artist statement:

The gyroKinetic series is a Polaroid transfer print study of objects which mimic the forces intrinsic to the cosmos. The images of diminutive geometry compel one to reconcile the disintegration of human endeavor with its re-absorption into ambient eternal cycles of nature.

The imagery of decaying cadavers of industrial artifacts transcend mere representation and speak of natural forms echoing time, space and dimension.

We are reminded of our substance, connection and mortality. Motion within the motion of mechanization. Yet, our designs are not unique in the universe. They imitate other pre-existing forms. And at the same time, we are not immune to the forces of time and dissolution.

This series was first exhibited at Gallery 7 Toronto as part of the Contact International Festival of Photography.
